The metal casting foundry in the department of Sculpture at the College of Art in Delhi is a specialized facility dedicated to the creation of metal sculptures and artworks through the process of casting. This foundry provides students with hands-on experience in working with various metals such as bronze, brass, and aluminium. The foundry is equipped with essential tools such as IGL powered furnaces and de-waxing kiln; crucibles as well as metalworking tools for casting and finishing metal pieces. Safety measures, including fire extinguishers, protective gear and proper ventilation, are strictly followed. Experienced faculty participate and guide throughout the casting process, from design to final touches. This foundry is an essential part of the college, fostering creativity and technical skills in metal casting among students.
